There are times when a new business comes by and you think, "My goodness, that's genius!" Image of Love Ultrasound is that for me. This is a business that fills a need that I didn't realize most women have.
I remember the first time I saw my little girl on an ultrasound. I was dumbstruck, immediately head over heals in love. I wanted to stare at her forever. I wanted to count all her little toes and memorize her features. But the ultrasound tech had a job to do and the screen changed quickly as she took measurements. Wouldn't it have been amazing to have that first peek be more memorable and personal? That's exactly what Kami Welborn is doing.
Image of Love Ultrasound is a 3D/4D/HD ultrasound company in Mineral Wells, Texas. Elective ultrasounds done here are performed in a spa like setting. It is the ultimate environment for bonding with your baby and family. There is no rush and the entire experience is focused on you. Your loved ones are more than welcome to come with you and share the moments.
I am beyond impressed with this business model, Kami's dedication, the detailed images that 4D technology provides and the unique experience this provides to expectant mothers. Head over to Image of Love Ultrasound's website, Facebook or Instagram for more information on pricing and booking.
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Kami Welborn. I am a child of the most high God, wife and mother of 3 ( two beautiful girls and a handsome little boy). I am a registered diagnostic medical sonographer. I received my associated degree in Ultrasound in May of 2012 and have been working as a Ob/Gyn diagnostic medical sonographer since.
In November of 2016 God placed the dream on me heart to open my own elective ultrasound studio. There were many highs and lows along this journey; many "nos" and "closed doors" but when it was God's time for this business to come to pass, he made it a breeze.
How did you get into your business?
I have my degree in diagnostic medical sonography and have a love for OB ultrasound, pregnant bellies and bringing hope and joy to women.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Self doubt, unable to see what the future holds, time management, and guilt.
If you could narrow your success down to one thing, what would it be?
Sharing the Lord with people and spreading joy, if i can offer that to even one person.... I count that as a success.
Where do you see yourself in a year?
I am leaving this all up to the Lord, as for now I am content. His plans for my life have always been greater than my wildest dreams so I can't even begin to image what he has in store for me. Check back this time next year. I can assure you it will be nothing short of spectacular.
What are your top three tips for women starting a business?
Seek guidance from the Lord, when you get the answer don't question it. Follow through with faith that he will provide, because if its from him... he will.
Know your identity in the Lord and see yourself the way he sees us: worthy, strong, beautiful, talented, gifted, daughter of the most high God and most of all LOVED. Never forget these things and you will have all the confidence you will ever need.
Use any pain that comes your way and convert it to power. It will be the fan that keeps the flame burning.
What’s your business motto or quote you live by?
"For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of sound mind." 2 Timothy 2:7
If you were starting your business over again, what would you do differently
Nothing!!! There was so much learned in the "in between" I am forever thankful for the good, the bad, and the ugly. It's made me better, wiser, and humble.
