You decide to go grab a Starbucks, sit down and google, “the best personal development book”, so you know what book to purchase. Triple the amout of titles are suggested than what this book store has. Uugh, where do you start? What book do you get? How do you know it’s going to be THE ONE you need to read?
Well, you’re in luck! We’re going to make it easy for you.
Are you just starting this amazing journey? Is being a #bossbabe what you want? Do you need a radical, whole life, supercharged motivational book?
Here are our TOP 5 personal development books you need to read this month!
Girl, Wash Your Face, by Rachel Hollis
This book was my last read and it blew my mind. She helps readers break free of the lies that hold us back from living with joy and freedom. She is a major boss babe, mom, wife and Christian. She is absolutely fabulous and this is a read for every single woman on the planet.
Girl Code, by Cara Alwill Leyba
This book is a fan fave, Cara encourages women to empower one another, ditch negativity and comparison in their lives and reminds us that there is no limit to success. She teaches women how to find happiness and success in their lives and careers. A must read!
21 irrefutable Laws of Leadership, by John C Maxwell
If you’re desiring to level up your leadership skills, which we should all be wanting to do, no matter the career we are in. This book is for you. He outlines 21 universal “laws” of leadership and inspires his readers with step by step ways to grow in leadership. One of my favorite quotes from this book, “Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others.”
Go get this book! I found mine for a dollar at a thrift store, just saying… You cannot put a price on personal development, but if you can do it for a dollar, then go for it.
You are a Badass, by Jen Sincero
If you care too much about how people view you or what people may think of you or your life choices, Prime this book to your door ASAP. Jen has a way of making you feel like a badass, hence the title. She has a no-nonsense approach to figuring out where you want to be and getting there without tip toeing around. Her stories are hilarious, they’ll make you think, “is this chick for real?” and you will be inspired in every chapter. She also has a book for those wanting to kick ass in the financial department as well, You are a Badass at making money: mastering the Mindset of Wealth.
The Compound Effect, by Darren Hardy
This was my very first “professional” personal development book. I listened to it on my way to and from a job I absolutely hated. It gave me encouragement and taught me amazing skills I carry with my to this day. These skills have helped take me to the next level in my businesses and life. His book is based on the principle that when you make small changes, and are consistent with them, you can create enormous results. It’s a must read, especially if you are too much of a “big picture” person and need help creating an easier, daily system to follow that will in time lead to success in every area of your life.
What do you do now? You can head to a thrift store and score these for cheap, you can prime them to your doorstep or download them on Audible. However you choose to get them, just get them and put in the work as I taught you how to do in my last article!
YOU are worth it. Your business is worth it. Your family is worth it.
Happy reading!
